.Easter at the zoo.

This year we took Amelia to the annual Rabbit Romp at the Oregon Zoo {my dad got Amelia a family pass for the year as a birthday gift for her....genius!} and we all had so much fun! The weather was insanely perfect and the kids were all dressed up and so excited.
We started off with the Easter egg hunt {broken down by age category so she wasn't mowed over by the big kids}. Amelia had a ton of fun and I was happy to see that most of the "prizes" were toy-based and not candy based {I hate that Easter is basically a celebration of type 2 diabetes} although she did get to have one piece of candy.

After the egg hunt we went around to see all of the animals that we knew she would spazz out over and it was so fun to see her so happy and excited. She kept saying "more animals Mama, again animals Daddy!"
Our first stop was to the Asian elephants. Have I mentioned that elephants are maybe Amelia's very very favorite thing in the whole wide world? I'm sure the fact that I have her nursery covered in Babar murals plays a roll in it but Homegirl totally loves them. She calls every single elephant {real or not} "Babar-ent". When we got up to the outdoor area of the elephants she screamed "BABAR-ENT" with pure delight and started shaking. Cheyenne lifted her up so she could better see the two that were outside. At one point the smaller of the two elephants went poop {like they do} and Amelia proudly announced to everyone "Oh, baby Babar-enty's going poopy. Silly baby Babar-enty."

We also visited the penguin exhibit {she LOVED seeing them swimming right up to her but the photos didn't come out that well}, the polar bears {they were asleep in the sun which she informed us meant "bear's napping shhhh"}, the petting zoo {happiness overload}, the monkeys {"Mimi's monkey. I have?}, the big cats {"ohh kitty kitty!"} and a few other exhibits before she tuckered out and we headed home. Here she is with the pygmy goats...

I hope all of you had as much fun on Easter as we did!
