.BBQ Fun.

A view of Portland's Waterfont Park & skyline with the annual fireworks display {photo not by me}.

Yesterday we went to a barbecue at our friends house and had a great time! We had tons and tons of delicious food {brisket, pulled pork, pasta salads, cornbread salad, cheesecake stuffed strawberries -made by moi- , vegan rice krispie treats, & angelfood cake} lots of yummy cocktails and a whole gaggle of 1 year olds playing together!
Amelia got to play with Edward, Nora, Adelaide, Norah, & Hazel {for the millionth time I would like to say how happy I am that "old fashioned" names are popular now and that awful trendy names -like Madison & Dakota- are on the way out}. We all had so much fun watching the littles play together and all of us did a collective "oh my God I feel old" gasp when we did the math and realized that they would all be graduating from high school as the class of '28!
We are lucky enough that Cheyenne's company has given everyone not only today off but tomorrow as well so we're only in the middle of our holiday weekend but thus far it's been perfect! Tonight we're going to have the most American meal possible {grilled hotdog & hamburgers with potato salad, baked beans, & corn on the cob with apple pie for dessert} and watching the fireworks from our crazy neighbors that put on the most awesomely illegal fireworks spectacle you've ever seen.
Have a wonderful {and safe} 4th of July everyone!
