.Recipe of the week.

I had intended to post this last night but after a very long day {teething baby & skunk sprayed dog} all the energy that I had left went into soaking in a nice hot bubble bath.
As I have mentioned in the past, I have a total obsession with Nutella. I love it and so does Cheyenne. Yes, we are the people that buy Nutella each time we go grocery shopping. Our friends David & Abigail love peanut butter thumbprint cookies, so much so that at almost every gathering at their home you can count on there being a plate of freshly baked PBTC {peanut butter thumbprint cookies}. I thought that it would be nice to share a recipe that combines these two heaven sent goodies into one perfect cookie. Enjoy!

Peanut thumbprint cookies with Nutella
Ingredients:

3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 {large} egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 jar Nutella

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the shortening and sugar. Blend in peanut butter, salt, egg, vanilla and flour. Mix well.

2. Shape dough into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Press your thumb into the center of each ball, creating a 1/2 inch depression.

3. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes and cool on a rack.

4. While the cookies are cooling fill a pastry bag {or ziplock bag's corner} with Nutella. Once the cookies are cooled pipe the Nutella into the thumbprints. Simple & delicious!
